  1. When I was a kid, in the UK, we often used to 'go wooding' as a family on Winter Sundays looking to gather wood from the ground. Chopping it up on our return for our home fire. It not only obviously helped keep us warm it was also a bonding experience. Might even have been then, I don't know, but doing so today in the UK, as in Austria, doing so is now an illegal act.
