No disrespect, but when exactly? In 2008, the US and the eurozone had similar GDPs of $14.8 trillion and $14.2 trillion, respectively. By 2023, the US GDP had grown to $26.9 trillion, while the eurozone's GDP was just over $15 trillion.

Merkel, like Blair, knew exactly when her chickens were coming home to roost and bailed at exactly the right time.
1
That claim always makes me larf. If China is 'Communist' then, by deduction, it gives the lie to the idea that Communism always fails wherever and whenever it's been tried. As Deng Xiaoping said, "It doesn't matter whether a cat is white or black, as long as it catches mice" Simple labels can be helpful, but they can also confuse sometimes.
1
@rombios3056 Agreed.
1
The Iranian nuclear bomb within days is a cooked up narrative redolent of the Blair/MI claim that Iraq's Saddam had the means to strike the UK in 45 minutes with his non-existent WMD. And we all knew where that led. All it takes is for a compliant on-board MSM convincing enough people to believe in this bloodthirsty warmongering B$ and then it's chocks away.
1
@johnrichmond8978 They damn well should because it's been done in their names whether they like it or not.
1
Hey y'all.
1
@slapkit51 YT blocked my reply.
1
Myra Hindley too had 'a special relationship' with Ian Brady.
1
It might have made a few people richer and created the illusion of prosperity but overall financialization, beginning in the 1980s, ripped the heart and soul out of the UK. Be warned Germany.
1
Perhaps it was built into batteries in the first place?
1
What a waste. Grim.
1
Ketamine more like.
1
One likes to imagine, despite the madness of the last few years, that these great forwardthinking Western geopolitical minds have some grand plan for finishing what they've started. What might that be I wonder as, at the moment, they just seem to be firefighting and lurching from one crisis to the next.
1
In the next episode the boys'll be chewing gum at the same time!!😊
1
... because....
1
Putin's trying to play chess with squirrels and that's the big worry.
1
Great that this is FINALLY happening, but one should never forget that Project Ukraine was instigated by the US in the first place and Trump played a not insignificant role in that.
1
Looks like 2024 could turn out to be Trump 2.0: The Revenge Tour. It didn't have to be this way. The US Deep State and the Dems with an almost entirely complicit mainstream media and big tech kicked all this dangerous divisive nonsense off in 2016 with Russiagate spending his entire presidency trying to delegitimise him. Can't say I'm entirely comfortable with it, but they look like they're about to reap what they have sown.
1
I was never sure which member of the uniparty to vote for to be honest.
1
Sure, but by the same token quite how fixated would the US be on Venezuela if it didn't have oil? Low grade or no. A lot of the Northern US states still currently rely on dirty, low grade, expensive Canadian tar sands oil do they not?
1
You can only ignore reality for so long. You cannot, however, ignore the consequences of reality.
1
Agreed. Must be acknowledged.
1
He did. The US claim was that Russians had been ignoring it for years. I haven't seen much evidence that they had been, so its credibility seems to rest entirely on that US claim.
1
Bet they are. Cat's out the bag and shows quite how much complicity there is, in reality, between these parties. Still no direct claim of responsibility yet you'll notice.
1
Bliar is indeed evil, but not being religious I think he manages it all on his ownsome. I say that. His 'institute' is heavily funded by Oracle owner Larry Ellison and is up to all manner of questionable things.
1
It's about respecting and upholding an established process and the answers it delivers be they right or wrong, NOT about the individual.
1
@Visamar-z1t You're showing a fundamental contempt for the principle of democracy. Once an enfranchised group gets to redefine it, particularly when it delivers answers they don't like, it ceases to be a democracy.
1
Isn't he a Muppet?
1
Bit harsh. I'd, nevertheless, be genuinely interested to hear why you think that.
1
@Windband1 I kinda know a bit, but what exactly is wrong with listening to his POV? I certainly didn't agree with everything said there, but what exactly irked you and the original commenter?
1
Certainly finally gives the lie to the ridiculous claim that the EU was ever 'a peace project'.
1
'It may be dangerous to be America's enemy, but to be America's friend is fatal' - Henry Kissinger. Something that decades of European leaders have failed to grasp or, perhaps, chosen not to.
1
Karamalalah?
1
What does that even mean FFS?
1
Trouble is, largely thanks to its highly ill-advised support for the Ukraine war, a fracturing Europe's just painted itself into a corner and simultaneously has to get its sh*t together without the US just as its economy is stagnating.
1
The EU isn't just 'a rules based organisation' it is a regulating machine. Like a bike, it will fall over if it stops moving.
1
Alex M is 💯 correct. There is NO Left left in the West. By design.
1
Aspirationally, yes. Without a doubt.
1
A war that was provoked and sustained by the West, in which hundreds of thousands of both Russians and Ukrainians have died, that should never have happened in the first place, to which a solution was rejected by the west and which will now likely lead to a carved up Ukraine. What a sh*tshow.
1
Don't be too hard on yourself.
1
@beneytan9440 In current circumstances, bizarrely, Zionist ethno-fascists are able to hide behind the false charge of 'anti-Semitism'. Similar 'jokes' as yours and others, quite rightly might I stress, about gas chambers were and still are rightly condemned. I'll leave that to your own conscience. Tw@t.
1
They're ALL war criminals.
1
@User-r5g5f Biden had more of a run up.
1
@rosemaryspiota9836 Check out the Blinken/Maxwell connection.
1
@PhillipUranus Yeah, weirdly I think he's the kinda guy that doesn't enjoy America starting new wars. You're just obviously not on the same page.
1
The big takeaway from this UK General Election was the turnout. One of the if not the lowest since the end of WW2. THAT'S what should be concerning our political masters and all of us more generally.
1
Not what he meant at the time obviously, but Fukuyama's 'End of history' quote regarding the collapse of the Soviet Union is looking more correct by the day....
1
Don't normally ever switch these guys off, but I have on this occasion.
1
Therein lies the rub.
