  1. Israel is ALWAYS just acting as a proxy for US' interests in the ME. That's what it is there for. I can't believe that anyone STILL seriously believes the tedious oft-repeated claims that the US is pressuring Israel for a peaceful or diplomatic solution to this that or the other. Israel gives the US plausible deniability over the commission of its own sponsored war criminality and allows it to further its own geopolitical and imperial aims in the region. Simples.

  5. It's not a revolution. First, the Syrian people aren't some glorious united homogenous group and second they have essentially been bystanders in this 'glorious' Western, Israeli and Turkish sponsored 'liberation'. Ultimately this is about resources and Russia, but I agree this could be a Pandora's Box that could yet backfire.

  6.  @Braveheart1966-d6t  It wasn't a regime overthrown by 'their people'. It was a regime overthrown by western and foreign sponsored jihadists, a good many of whom were also foreign. Don't be so naive as to assume that what replaces Assad is going to be any better either.
