  1. Presumably hadn't foreseen Qualified Majority Voting there then Mr Wilson, or the ever shrinking power of the national veto? Shades of a delusional Dr Frankenstein in terms of the European Project, and how he imagines future UK governments, weak or strong, could somehow forever influence or override it and its ever burgeoning future membership. Since 1975 the CAP has seen barely any reform yet still accounts for over 30% of the EU's budget, largely benefitting big agri-business, whilst only accounting for a minuscule amount of the bloc's overall GDP and employment. Still, at least he was a democrat.
