  1. It's always fascinating how many Americans are fond of claiming that the country is somehow a meritocratic democratic system. Its political system is riddled to its core with cronyism, lobby based corruption and super donor classes. Plus, one only has to look at its own 'royals' and 'my turn' unspoken rules of accession that have applied to its presidency and other top jobs, particularly over more recent years.

  2. It would help if the Democrats just changed their name. At least if they called themselves more correctly, 'The Authoritarians' then there'd be less confusion for voters.
