  1. There are a few nutzoid senior Republicans I've seen interviewed who actually believe that they're playing their part in some Biblical prophecy by unconditionally supporting Israel. The Bible isn't a cautionary tale it's a fricking roadmap. It wouldn't be so bad under normal circumstances, but these chumps wield genuine power.

  2. Political lobbying is blatant corruption of the political system occuring in plain sight. The big problem as I see it is that most people think it's ok just so long as the donations go to their team.
