  1. Depressingly, history certainly shows us that that is usually the case. Still, if enough people buy into the idea that this is somehow the outcome of a functioning harsh-but-fair free market then who are we to say otherwise?

  2. Said it before and I'll say it again, 'the secondary stock market is not the real economy'. It's a casino with winners on one side, losers on the other and where the House always wins. The question is will 'the House' choose to aid labour or capital this time? If I were a betting man....

  4. Rarely, if ever, admitted by our political and financial masters but full employment is inflationary. Both politically and economically useful to have a permanent bank of unemployed workers to keep prices down.
