  1. For both good and ill, the story of empire dominates human history and will likely continue to do so. As technology advanced so did empires in terms of their ability to expand further in symbiosis with those advances. White Europeans didn't invent 'empire' and nor were they unique in displacing or oppressing peoples who happened to be there before them. History isn't a morality play unfortunately.

  2. Or better still it should try spreading disease and then miraculously coming up with the highly lucrative 'cure' for it in record time. A modern take on the Wild West snake oil salesmen of old perhaps?
