Mussolini described fascism as when the interests of corporations and the state could barely be separated by a cigarette paper. We seem today to have dispensed with the cigarette paper even and the real genius is we've all been sleepwalked into this with barely a shot being fired in its name on our streets and without a jackboot hitting the cobbles.

Wasn't touched upon but this is why corporations lurve, lurve, lurve identity politics. It's the perfect virtuous wedge to allow for divide and rule. If the great unwashed working masses are constantly slugging it out then it means they're not zeroing in on the real causes of what ails them.

Ruined it near the end there when he started talking about Trump and demagoguery. It's intellectually lazy and amounts to the very same simplistic, diversionary approach for the hard of thinking they accuse someone like Trump of. Trump certainly ain't no saint and I'm sure he's a friend of some big money corporate interests but very obviously not all. Most of them hate him. He is, truth be told, by far the lesser of two evils when it comes to the warmongering neocons in the Democratic Party and what is, essentially, America's 'uniparty'.

Just double-checked the rainwater harvesting ban claim in Bolivia. After US corporation Bechtel, its only bidder, won the country's privatized water contract it jacked up water prices by up to 200%. F*ck me, it's true!! I've heard it all now. What a truly wicked world we live in.

Unelected, unaccountable obscenely well-funded, over-staffed NGOs, QUANGOs and GONGOs are also a perfect extension of this power structure. They allow government, ergo the corporations who pull their strings, to lobby for and implement unpopular policies via the backdoor.
