  1. Germany, along with France, and to their credit have been trying to avoid all this sh*t for years through the, yes imperfect, Minsk Accords. Yes, Germany shouldn't have staked its stratospheric economic growth on forever cheap Russian energy, but that largely misses the point. The records long show that the US, I'm afraid, has long helped to stoke this conflict and that should be duly noted.
