Irony of ironies, but one wonders if anyone could pinpoint the moment when the anti-racist movement essentially became racist and sought to define people primarily through the colour of their skins?

@evolassunglasses4673 'Race', much like sexuality, is something 'you' or others either choose to almost entirely define someone by or see as but one facet of who someone actually is. Of course, whilst there are also inevitable cultural aspects to factor in, in terms of our pigmentation it's never irrelevant not least because it's one of if not the most obvious physical characteristic we possess. However, to sum up someone's entire existence or character off the back of it so obviously defies reason. By the same token, this prevailing assumption and accompanying popular narrative that say 'black' or 'gay' people are somehow homogeneous 'communities' that are all forever in ideological lockstep with one another is equally as patently daft. In all honesty I'm surprised that there isn't more pushback against this as were I black or gay I would find this patronizing in the extreme and/or offensive. Paradoxically, perhaps it's informed by a fear of being ostracized and branded a traitor to the cause by one's own 'community' and these people are themselves hostages, willing or otherwise, to this narrative?

@emeraldeyes9565 Don't you find it weird that a civil rights lawyer and self-described in his earlier life 'desegregationist' like Bell should contribute so heavily to promoting the prospect of greater 'segregationism' in his later life as an academic?
