My comment might be hilarious, but the only columbian person i met sofar was while i was jogging in forest trail and taking a break, this more mature woman well dressed, very chatty and inquisitive from Columbia talked with me for 1/2 hour. Quickly she talked about Pablo Escobar and that she lives near where he lived and in her youth saw him riding horses. That freaked me out and she seemed to talk about how drugs is totally spreading in usa. I think she was in a cartel and I was glad when the conversation ended. Funny how stereotyped completely played out to be true in her case.

@DetPrep i was more worried about my safety based on the topics she brought forward, she even seemed to say that drug was spreading everywhere in the usa. I don't know if she was trying to say she was linked to a profitable business, she looked very classy and rich but if she had pulled a 2 inch thick roll of $100's i would not have been surprised or maybe she was just kidding with this topic about her country. She seemed unusally confident for a woman by herself in the woods. Exactly what i imagine a cartel boss wife would be like. But maybe it's all coincidence.

@DetPrep Haha, i enjoyed reading your well written guess scenario of what could gone through that woman's mind. I obviously was just a random hiker doing some workout on the trail in a swampy area. There were few hikers on that trail but none during our encounter. I am only 50/50 convinced that she used indigenous malice to elaborate a defensive mascarade against an non existent threat. i do not believe it well because she was composed, calm, casual, confident and quite polite. There were no evocation of violent stories from Columbia in her mind. Just that they liked Escobar because he was nice to the local community. She was in no hurry, it's she who extended our conversation not me. She seemed curious and interested maybe even flirting. She was not too young more like a soccer mum. I had no interest in her, i only expected a polite talk but heard her accent and it started a conversation. But when she started casually talking of how she saw drugs spreading in Usa around her it sure made me suspicious of her. I told her i don't know about this, and have never encountered such people. It was not even clear from her language if she was condemning it or actually amused how decaying the USa is. Actually i am no fan of the USa and not born in Usa and i just remember we talked about that initially. I now think that lead her to relax and vent her dislike of the Usa. I think it was just a casual talk nothing more. But even so after she had said she saw drugs in the Usa, i didn't want to have anything to do with her and wanted her to end the conversation and go away. She gave me the impression of a decent person with her life under control and stable but her choice of topic was a red flag for me.
