As an expat like her, I would tell Charmaine, if she reads this, that the difficulty of finding friends of the same age and interests in usa is a serious problem because americans are too-individualists and they live compartmentalized lives, where they don't mingle outside their bubble and almost have no experience of interacting with foreign nationals on the same level. Even in medium size cities and most large cities the american way of life (it's not a culture, there is no social culture in usa, it is community based) is odd to highly social countries like Philippines or European countries. I would say most foreign nationals cannot find a wife or husband in usa and start a family. As an expat it will be very difficult to find love and start a family.
