  3. It's shocking how some snowflakes or millenials in the replies cannot believe this is a real story because they got stuck up into Steve Job's arse smartphone generation. It's real i can tell. I have experienced a similar fate not 24 yrs ago but 9 years ago. Same thing we got along great got engaged. But i would not say her parents were toxic, they were nice people and we got along fine but the culture and language barrier was big and it probably hit them that they only child would move to a different country where they themselves would not be able to communicate. At the end the family aunt matchmade her urgently to some divorced but local businessman and from what i guessed they put the stress on her to go along with it and i lost her. But yeah those stories are real. I guess the younger generation have nooooo idea of the world before internet.

  4. It's not her parents that ruined it, it's your fellow american soldiers average behavior dis-reputation. But let's put historical backing behind this. In WW2 the army press was telling USa rookie soldiers that the european women were easy and being deployed to Europe for D day was guarranteed to bring many young women craving for sex to every american soldier. This was a dirty lie of course but they believed it. The result following the deployment of US troops in France : 3000 cases of rape by Usa soldiers on civilian women many of the soldier blacks. Some were convicted. Then in Korea same thing. The accomplice Korean government sent Korean prostitutes groups directly in the base. But it went worse american soldiers got a deserved reputation for raping young civilian girls too afraid to say anything in a country utterly destroyed and dirt poor after war. Of course that was decades before 1980 but the bad reputation was already well set and fairly deserved. No doubt Japan experienced it too.
