  1. Serpentza as much as I respectfully listen to your chinese experience, i know and want to let you know in a friendly way that California is not a representation of the whole american experience. The demographics are massively different in California than they are in the East coast or the South and i am not even saying deep south, just south. Most Californians have no clue of how different their society is, they could be a different country and this is not sarcasm. California is massively white/asian/mexicans with a small black minority and only in concentrated areas. This is very different than the east coast where it is white and blacks and nothing much else (not including florida for cubans), almost no asian and few mexicans. The way californian think black people are just another friendly race "so oppressed" in the south is pure ignorance and intentional misinformation. It's easy to be very positive when you live in asian dominated or white dominated areas and you have that one black friend that is cool to have. But live in Haiiti for a year or in any place where black population approaches 30-50%. I guarrantee that anybody no matter how convinced and brainwashed they are by liberal media will change 180 degree their opinion in less than 1 year . I know you're south african, but correct me if i am wrong, that society used to be completely segregated so it would not be the same experience as in american north east or southern cities where blacks want to live where whites are, while white are fleeing away as more blacks move in and destroy the neighborhoods, roam the streets and safety is the opposite of Japan (IYKWIM). Californians have just no clue. Zero, none whatsoever. Don't fall into their stereotype thinking their society is representative of USA it is not, it's like a different country.
