I am an european expat living in the usa. There is nothing enviable about usan cities, usa is a backwater backward country at this point compared to Europe, Japan. Trains used in the usa today as i write this are the equivalent of 1960 trains in countries like France. It's 60 years behind ! And up to 2008 the main usan vehicle builders were building vehicles the equivalent of Europe 1955-1965 from a technical point of view. Then following the financial scandal of the FED and banks bailings, after the mortgage crisis the GMC, Ford, Chevrolet suddently faced bankrupcy. Then they started reverse engineering Japanese and European cars and copying. We are still in that phase today. Today it is not hard to see that usa is the most behind of all developped nations in cities and infrastructures.

@bills6093 You are delusional. France's Peugeot invented the DOHC and says hello from 1912. Usan arrogance is pathetic, same goes for motored aviation, invented and developed in Europe, France and Germany, and launched without the help of a catapult system unlike the usan stooges.

@bills6093 That's the point, the 1990's is relatively recently compared to Europe and Japan who had it many decades earlier.

@bills6093 Sorry to ruin your hopes, but the DOHC engine was invented and made popular and mass produced in Europe. The first DOHC engine was a Peugeot inline-four racing engine which powered the car that won the 1912 French Grand Prix. Another Peugeot with a DOHC engine won the 1913 French Grand Prix, followed by the Mercedes-Benz 18/100 GP winning the 1914 French Grand Prix. During WW1 Europe manufacturer developped the DOHC for airplanes. Mercedes, Rolls-Royce, BMW. After WW2 it became the European mainstay for all iconic race cars (Lagonda, Jaguar, Alfa Romeo). In the 1980's it was used as a more advanced technology to reduce fuel consumption by Japanese manufacturer but Usans manufacturer behind and backwards resisted advancing to a more complex car and didn't give a damn about engine consumption. This is the reason for the tractor pushrod engine being the base of most usan cars produced in large volume in usa. Sorry for the reality check.

@bills6093 Usan cars have a bad reputation in europe as boats with tractor engine, which incidentatly is what pushrods engines were historically derived from in usa. All usan so called "muscle cars" are essentially running a tractor engine modified to rev higher. If you pay attention to the sound they make when accelerating, it's that farm tractor pushrods sound. There was a sudden shift after 2008 when usan manufacturer copied European and Japanese designs and technology.

@bills6093 Bill is back to usan media brainwash "must not be contradicted".

@stephenlight647 You couldn't be more right, and most of your silent majority compatriots think the same. But unfortunately usa is hijacked by a minority deep state who relies on warmongering abroad to fill their coffers with predatory financing (goldman sachs ripping the Greek government), or with political coups followed by forced installation of usan big corps abroad (ukraine, biden criminal son in the board of the biggest ukrainian corp). But that illegitimate minority has gotten full control of currency manufacturing (the dollar) and control in the usa, so that they control everything in the usa (media, government). This is why usa is not run for the people anymore, the pity state of the infrastructures, the recurrent financial scandals bailing banks instead of putting financial parasites in jail, proves it.
