@smugreptile6695 I can tell that you are green and have not seen enough of wildlife by the fantasy thinking scenarios you wrote. First, you underestimated the zebra. A zebra has very powerful hind legs, can quickly rotate in any direction and kill a chasing lioness with only one kick. Drop dead instantly. An adult zebra neck muscles are so strong that a single lioness trying to hang on to a zebra neck can get trampled and suffer a broken bone which is usually fatal. It would be easier for a lioness to kill a hyena 1vs1 than a zebra. That is why it takes at least 2 lionesses. Yes pound for pound, zebra are the strongest herbivore.
Now about crocodile vs. lion, the lion bite is actually not weaker than a Jaguar, but the jaguar canine teeth are more receded in the jaw giving more leverage and the tooth itself is more sharp explaining the puncturing power. Again just as i said, 2 lion(ess) is all it takes to kill a crocodile on land who has no water escape. And no, they would not bite the tough scaly back of the crocodile. In all serious lion vs crocodile face off, the lion(s) are always circling the croc because they know the croc vulnerable part, and the way to kill it, is its hind legs and it's also the perfect diameter to fit inside a lion jaw. Now, the croc spine is flexible that it can curve and bite any animal attacking its hind leg, this is why the second lion is required usually just long enough to reduce the croc movement while the other lion bite the hind legs. The wound is immediate and from there it will tear up all the underbelly of he croc no matter its size. Here you can see it in action with the end result, you can see the huge croc was killed exactly as i described by three lioness.

A male lion, has far more body weight and stronger legs that a lionness that can immobilize a croc head and from there it too will bite the hind legs. But for smaller crocs is will bite the neck and instantly kill the croc.
Your whole paragraph on claws was nonsensical and more akeen of what a housecat would do against a dog attack.
A lion's claw do not have the purpose of killing any animal, it's meant to attach to larger preys when chasing and to swoop under their trachea for bitting choke.
So as you see a croc is in trouble as soon as it is on land.
