  7. This isn't to get the US on Russia's side, this seems to be the whole plan for the US to get Russia on their side. Russia was always going to leave with some territory and it's a mineral rich territory that's largely inhabited by Russian-speakers who aren't very fond of how they've been treated in Ukraine. It's part of why Zelensky is such small player in this. Trump doesn't want Russia joining China in desperation, he wants a former rival to become a business partner so he can focus on the biggest rival and this is like a three-way win for the USA.

  9. Leave NATO and the UN, give it a month and then check in on everyone. I don't think there's a chance of teaming up with China, I think Russia and the USA going in as partners means the US just took out a major rival without firing a shot and can now focus on the main rival who no longer corners a market over them in global trade. The trade war is already on and it's the world war everyone is ignoring.
