I think I have to agree that Demon's Souls was harder, but I'm glad a Souls game was even mentioned...though I'm not sure I'd put it at #2 given some of the difficulty of some NES games x_x  Dark Souls (and Demon's Souls) are just examples of actually offering challenge to modern games without making it just the "hard mode" and equally rewarding people that play it on "easy", something that a lot of developers seem scared of doing.

NazoZero Well both games had hints, I find Dark Souls 2  bit cheaper because some of the difficulty in it doesn't seem so much hard and strategy changing as they are just cheap and lazy.  Yes, throwing three enemies at me at once makes it harder, but but the tactic is still just focus on one until they're done while avoiding the others and that never changes for any of those fights.  Taurus can be taken out the hard way or you can climb the ladder for a plunge (something that Demon's Souls didn't even give you the option of since plunging attacks didn't exist).  Capra demon isn't that hard, but the small space you fight him in and the two dogs make you have to move quick and really try to use what little area you had to your advantage.  Ceaseless Discharge can be devastating in a straight-up fight, but figuring out you can lure him back (though that was a bit anticlimactic) was just another little puzzle to figure out.  You can tell a little bit of thought went into the boss fights rather than just, "let's throw more enemies at them at once" to increase the challenge and make you think fast during the fight.

It wasn't just that the Jaguar was advertising was bad...all of them had bad advertising at that point XD  But the damned console didn't even WORK most of the time.  If it had the slightest issue with it's laser reader the whole thing would fall apart, or there was connection issue or the lid was on so tight the disc wouldn't spin or it just - plain - refused to function for some reason XD And I believe there were at least two wireframe games for Virtual Boy (if I understand correctly), the problem was they didn't have anything but the frames so you couldn't tell a wall from a opening x_x

  6. I'd put the entirety of Halo 3 and it's poor excuse for a conclusion over Halo 2 that was at least satisfying to play through with the updates to the gameplay and new weapons.

Smough and Ornstien...well Capra too XD they were the only trouble I've had so far.  Dark Souls 2 seems WAY too fond of throwing  more than one enemy at you and while that's an effective strategy for difficulty, it's kind of a cop-out compared to the different methods you had to take on the bosses in Dark Souls and Demon's Souls were.  Yeah, there were a few tag-teams in those games, but they were rare and meant to make you try a different strategy.  Dark Souls 2 is full of tag-teams and sometimes more than even two bosses in one fight.

  19. Gabriel in Constantine looks a LOT like Lucifer from the Sandman Series...I guess it's not surprise that he does have an encounter with John in the first story.

It would have placed low, but...maybe that scene from The Terminator when he's trying to find her in the club?  And I think that scene from The Fog where they're trying to start the truck and those things are coming towards them was pretty intense...that and the scene when the ship is first encountered.  As for that scene in Aliens...c'mon, you didn't pick the scene with the captain in the vents?  That scene is INSANE!

While people may argue that the Joker should have been on the list instead of Bane and others may say that the Joker doesn't count because he's not motivated politically, I have to agree...with the former...based solely on the fact that obviously political gain isn't in the definition for terrorist on this list.  See evidence in terrorist #1, who in fact wasn't a terrorist but a common- pardon -exceptional thief.  So Joker is just as valid on this list.

I do agree with a lot of the choices: Burke, Fredo, and Mister Orange are all great choices.  What I'm not sure about is the placement of some of these choices and...a few of these guys were blindingly obvious to be the "traitors" that I just don't think they should count.  I mean...Obadiah Stane?  Really?  Was there ONE person that didn't know he was gonna end up being the bad guy?

Chris Rivera That's part of why we like those games is because they offer challenge and fair challenge, it's not an issue of horrible glitches and bad controls that screw you over.  It was fun going to new places and finding out what they offered for you to overcome and every setting and boss in the first Dark Souls was like a little puzzle that forced you to find the best tactic the worked for YOU.

I can't say I agree with Wii sports even being on this list, but some of them were pretty good.  I can't really credit Ultima Online because while it may have been two years earlier, let's face it, WoW took brought people over from Everquest Online, which was dominating the MMO scene for years.

  34. I gotta agree with Kingdom Hearts, the only good one was the first one and the rest are only popular for all the yaoi doujinshi that they spawned. I don't care for any of the new characters or their story lines and they stole all the spotlight off the REAL characters and story.

  39. I wanted to like this list. Anyone serious about the list wouldn't have bothered to joke with (I have to assume it must be a joke otherwise this list was made by an idiot). Kasumi may be the lead character, but not more popular that the other ninja in the game. Ivy isn't as iconic as Nightmare or Seigfried. Dural from Virtua Fighter!? Morrigan...what because she crosses over in other games? And no-one picked Orchid over Cinder. It's too bad because the good choices were hurt by this bad joke.

  41. I really do like Albion from the Fable series, I don't think it would be in my top three, but it the charming little world from the first game would be an honorable mention for me ^_^

It's a shame that for all the fun little bits of details that the creators of this clearly did their research for, and were fans of the over all series to include... that any element that isn't centered around the monsters seems to fall flat. I think even less time with the human element would be best moving forward.

  43. Of the games I've played, Halo 3 had a pretty terrible ending that really answered no questions and left you feeling like you didn't even play through a whole game. I mean, I know it was really based around it's multiplayer and they had other Halo spinoffs in the works, but c'mon guys! We deserved a proper ending and a game that felt complete.

  47. That's another thing too, a majority of the game is told in handheld versions which I don't even play. Hell, there is a game between KH1 and KH2 that bridges what happened between the games to put it where it is and would have saved me hours of confusion at the beginning of KH2 had I had any idea of it's existence.

  50. Not sure I agree with Aladdin, I mean the Arabian Knights stories were pretty dark and and I don't really recall any blatant stereotyping or anything in there really, just a cast of characters in an exotic setting. But maybe I'm just to simple.
