Yeah, people seem to think they elect every agent and official in the government and that' just ridiculous, where would you even get that idea?
23
He seems to have learned his lesson from last time for sure. He's playing this game better than the competition this time and getting things done.
8
You'd be surprised how many members of government you haven't elected who are there now doing work. In fact, the majority of government officials you didn't elect.
7
@TheSunshineplace10 I think the guy is on the spectrum, so some of it can seem a little awkward.
6
It was nice to get an update, especially with all of the push back.
5
Elon's supremely confident that if there's any with businesses he's affiliated with, someone will bring it up fast. He's right, they're watching him under a microscope right now.
4
Make politicians have to work for a living and answer to the people. It was how it was made and how it should have stayed.
4
@jumpropexpressions8929 We just had a conference here talking about what exactly he's doing.
4
@josephinee.becker6406 Several government officials and agents are not selected by Congress. Instead, they may be appointed by the President, other executive officials, or through independent processes. Examples would include: Cabinet Members, Supreme Court Justices and Federal Judges, Ambassadors, Heads of Independent Agencies *, U.S. Attorneys and White House Staff. * Agencies such as the USDS (or DOGE as they're calling it).
4
Why on earth would we have any say in who the President assigns a special task to? How many government agents and officials do you think you vote into their roles? Most of them you don't, they're decided by others. I don't understand this logic. If it helps you understand, the President "elected" this man for this position, and the President has the right to do that, and always has.
4
Moreover, two men that have no need for this entire system to be successful, wealthy and influential. They're just tearing out all the gears so the next round of politicians have to actually work for a living and can't just generate their own wealth and have indefinite job security.
3
Probably would still result in them being cut, just a lot slower of a process.
3
@utdpkg38 Does Russia want to join NATO?
3
Especially while still begging the US to be involved and back them.
3
Wishful thinking, but I think tax paying citizens should be entitled to some compensation after all of this.
2
They're already being looked into, for sure. Collusion has been a very big issue where Trump's opposition is concerned. Not to mention the suddenness of these orders, in the middle of the night, without talking to anyone else and demanding the destruction of potential evidence and the release of funds that are under suspicion of being fraudulent? Yeah, they're gonna be under investigation for conspiracy.
2
@robyoung-pl1gq I think this is a bot, it keeps repeating itself.
2
If not just to do what is good and right, then public image and a favorable reputation is a really big factor in the success of future business ventures, for sure. If he's not caught out in some kind of scam in all of this, he'll be able to leverage the work here to get a lot more commitments to his projects.
2
@mikam8801 Russia isn't standing on Alaska, it controls Donetsk, Kharkiv, Kherson, Luhansk, Mykolayiv, and Zaporizhzhya Oblasts. Some of them aren't even opposed to joining back up with Russia considering some of the history of oppression in Ukraine.
2
Why would you be involved in the appointment of a government agent? You've never voted for those so why would you now?
2
@1Way. And it was an important one too considering the judicial push-back it received recently. The need to be up to date and transparent is vital to its success.
2
Gonna need to see some sources sited for these "facts".
2
He probably deserves a medal, and the guys he hired for his team, they shouldn't have to work another day in their lives. After the savings, it wouldn't even be expensive to do XD
2
@BGdubs92b17 We have dozens of agents in our government that weren't elected, we had a VP last administration that wasn't elected. As far as the will of the people, considering the polls, it's almost entirely supported by the people, so I'm not sure how it wouldn't be the will of the people. Enjoy laughing alone.

Do you know what the risks of keeping these vital documents physical is? Between how they're store, natural decomposition, potential for hazards just destroying them with no backups... It's astounding there'd be any dependence on physical records in this modern day, especially for things this important.
1
@ What are you talking about? They are telling you precisely how it HASN'T worked. You'd have to ignore what they were saying to not realize that XD
1
You say that like people haven't been saying that since like the 1960's. Get some new material.
1
The difference between the comment sections of like this channel and Scripps News covering the exact same video is really funny XD
1
How many kids does he have now?
1
Yeah, this feels so different for some reason.
1
@robyoung-pl1gq I think the fact that he's under constant scrutiny by the press and posts updates on their work publicly would be suitable transparency for what he's doing. Also, he doesn't make decisions on these matters, he gathers data and sends the findings to the House.
1
@AaronBurkFamily Well, the thing is, they aren't obligated to tell you anything to begin with. So this amount is nice to have in the first place. Also, you're not just talking about transparency, you're talking about oversight. The USDS didn't have need of that oversight when it was authorized to make services more efficient before, so why would it now?
1
@AaronBurkFamily The USDS was allowed to recruit from the private sector in its inception and the President always retains the right to appoint anyone he wants as head of an independent agency without Congress or anyone. That's a power the President just has.

Finding a Trillion dollars in fraud in the system and generating another Trillion in revenue so we don't have inflation in 2026, it's not really that hard to follow what's being said when you listen to what they're saying. That being said, I do find Elon's metaphors and analogies to be pretty... entertaining.
1
@hansombrother1 Russia is actually interested in making a deal for peace, especially since it actually has some bargaining power on the table. Mexico is overrun with corruption, but has also agreed to a lot of our terms while also suing gun manufacturers for its crime problems, Canada knows it's in a bad spot, a few of of the commonwealths have even stated they'd immediately sign off on joining the USA if it was on the table. Last term, Trump was the only guy that could wrangle North Korea, so... you want them to go unchecked again? It's okay, we're just letting everyone make their own mistakes for right now before we come right back in and fix everything, again.
1
@watchuwant1560 You said a lot f words that just don't go together. Who is demanding loyalty? Who is being unconstitutional? What about all of the money that was stolen? What monarch wants that to get out and wants it to stop, especially when all of that fraud, embezzlement and money laundering clearly benefits politicians? What monarch helps arm their citizens by signing orders to commit the AG to review infringements of the second amendment, which is part of the constitution (very unconstitutional of him) and remove some of the overreach from the very agency meant to police arms? When you're a monarch, you don't cut off a major flow of income and then grant all of your citizens gun rights. That makes no sense.

What was more distracting was the automated voice that came on in the middle off the broadcast while they were both talking, thanks for that =P
1
@TheOriginalGriffon None of that is require, there are no caveats here. The President can and always has been able to just assign someone. There's no waiting period or permission otherwise needed and that's for various roles in governance that Congress and and Senate have zero say in. People don't understand what the President can actually do because we haven't had one that did anything in a long time.
1
@oksanaglinchuk8956 I don't get it, does anyone realize that Putin would be running to the USA? Their economy is in toilet, a tiny country just fended them off three straight years. The USA isn't subservient to Russia XD It's just European fearmongering and that's why Trump got fed up with what Zelensky was saying because the US has nothing to fear of Russia.
1
@brianleonard6598 The role isn't something he invented. The USDS was created by Obama in 2014.
