As a Native American, I do think Zelensky needs to consider the deal being offered, because otherwise it just means more conflict. It sucks that everyone is in a bad position, but what other offer is on the table for peace?

I'm not very keen on BlackRock controlling anything, they're responsible for a lot of the DEI initiatives. I know that having the control out of the hands of China is the goal, but they're not really a much better option considering their government and industry meddling.

@innocentbystander8038 It means Ukraine doesn't become part of Russia, which I think it's the main thing Ukraine wants to avoid. That's worth the deal alone. In addition, now that they represent a substantial investment from the USA for that rare earths deal, they'll be given protection because the USA won't let someone threaten that investment. Ukraine comes out very well, even if it has to give up land over this. The only other option is... more war. No-one else is even offering to work this out. Europe gave them more troops, helping no-one so this is the deal on the table and it's not a bad one. I'm sorry that there won't be some "moral" victory involved and that Russia won't just leave with a giant "L", but that isn't how this works or has ever worked.

Because he's planning on probably giving SOME of it to Putin so Putin will leave.

And Russia is probably going to leave with some of it, with an agreement with the USA. We know Putin isn't leaving this conflict without something, he has to save face and Trump knows that. So he gets signed off on the minerals, gives Russia some of it and Russia goes back to Russia... or maybe even gets to hold onto a Russian dominated territory if it must, but the war is over, Ukraine maintains its sovereignty with a partnership with the USA for security. Everyone is getting something out of this deal, there is no chance for peace unless everyone gets something. Ukraine gets protection, USA and Russia get some access. That's how it works.

Because Putin isn't gonna leave and end the war without something, so when we get what we want, Russia gets a little bit of it and leaves.

So to lay things out.. Russian will not leave with nothing. It's unrealistic to even think that, something will be given up to Russia before this is over. So with that in mind, what is the US offering? It wants access to Ukraine's rare earth minerals to not only compensate for the support it's already given but to have an ongoing deal which allows it to compete better with China who has otherwise cornered that market. What does Ukraine gain with this? It's officially a business partner with the US, and it's guaranteed security because of the investment that the US has, attacks on the Ukraine are attacks on those investments and the US is a really good deterrent for anyone to even try attacking the Ukraine again. So then what does Russia get? Obviously it's either going to leave with land, access to some of the rare earths in the US deal or even both. Russia won't leave empty handed, that's just a fact, so someone has to give something. The only other option is ongoing war, which both countries claim to want ended. So this is the deal, Russia will likely leave with territory and/or minerals, the US will get it's access and Ukraine will get to dust itself off and start rebuilding under the protection of its key investor, the USA.
