Chashka, no it isn't. The protesters in Hong Kong aren't demonstrating for freedom. They extradition bill has been suspended and they've now moved on to wishing for a bunch of undemocratic demands such as amnesty for violent lawbreakers, investigations into the civilized and proper police, and similar backwards ideas. There's a flood of hostile violent criminals involved in the movement too, so anyone believing in democracy and what's right can accordingly not support such a grim group.

@achingbach2904 I'm deeply informed in the topic. I've read hundred of articles regarding the issue in the past several months from a broadly different perspectives. I'm severely opposed to many of CCP's policies and methods, but in this scenario I'm on their side. The violence, terrorism and disruptive behaviour seen in HK In the past months is totally unacceptable, especially in the name of "democracy". How can you defend this and what's your stance?

@zephyr4299 I don't support CCP, no. Not at all. But I don't support the thousands of violent and lawbreaking animalistic individuals who's an official part of the anti-government protesters. They're destroying the whole area. China are barely involved in the situationh either, they've pretty much just condemned the ignorant and undemocratic actions by the protesters. So in this rare matter, I'm on "China's side". How can you legitimately defend the "anti-government" crowd part of the movement in HK?

@Mon-Mothhma How do you know that they're "using too much tear gas" and that they're unnecessarily using weapons to stomp the protesters without justification? That's a lie. Do you have any idea why the police force has been deployed to patrol and guard the streets the past months or have you been indoctrinated by people who believe that terrorist violence is justifiable if the term "democracy" is involved in said operation? The wish for universal suffrage is ambiguous if people have read up on what that particular demand actually entails. Also, you didn't address the ~3 fallible and aggressive demands in their wishlists which I highlighted. How are they in any way acceptable?

@powerfullypoweredpowerfulpower The poolice are arresting and hitting the people who tries to circumvent face mask bans, people who attend demonstrations without a permit, people who use violence, people who harass, doxx, and attack people they assume to have chinese connections, saboteurs, and people who disturb the public through various ways. Avoid using one-off situations as an attempt to paint out the police as a representative "bad authority" when they're one of the most democratic, fair and desired police forces in Asia. They have overall done absolutely nothing wrong. Nothing. And no, I'm not "fake news", I've spent 100+ hours reading regarding this situation the past several months. I'm fully invested in the scene. With your attitude and defence of political violence, I'm expecting that you'll be locked up by respective law-enforcement team soon. When that vindictive and rational scenario occurs, I imagine that you'll regret that you didn't listen to the advice and factual information distributed by people like myself.

@achingbach2904 I used to support HK's anti-government protesters message until the goal was reached and the protesters changed their demands. Do you support the current fallible, naive and undemocratic demands? A large proportion of the movement has also sadly spiralled into widespread violence. That's not how you get a message across or reach for permanent change. You're right that I highly value law & order, as long as the system below us is fair and OK.
