  1.  eviltreemonster  Nah. The plague mainly affected those who lived dirty, led amoral and reprehensible lives. Social darwinism and societal decency was quite common back then, so of course such actors would be dismissed. Yes, it comes across as tacky. But with all the parameters take into account, you can see why this reaction sparked.
