Sounds like a society taking their moral responsibility by rejecting polygamy, preventing people from having hundreds of promiscuous partners, preventing the spread of disease, and building up a society where you plan ahead, value life, and dress/behave in a civilized manner is prioritized highly. Abortion is not and will never be a "right".

  2. If the handmaid's tale had any similarities with Poland's situation, the ongoing protesters would be killed off by tanks in a couple of seconds. These laws would be strengthened and implemented immediately (they've been delayed/withdrawn) and all dissent would be crushed. Protecting life isn't oppression. At all. It's the only sensible option to take unless you're advocating from the perspective of an evil witch willing to destroy reproductive systems, the traditional family fabric, the country's moral pillars and fundamental values that keeps people alive and well.

  3. I'm an atheist and I support state intervention to protect life and uphold decent moral values by forcing men and women to behave respectfully and responsibly. Abortion laws has nothing to do with religion (well, it doesn't have to), it has to do with the state's and society's task of protecting innocent life while condemning high-risk and abominable conduct by people that don't deserve to thrash society in the way that they're doing if constantly (not exaggerated) getting abortions is on the agenda.

  4.  @Alice12337  If for the better means "letting abortion cases of where the children are deformed proceed, but rejecting all other forms of abortion", then I agree with you. If dehumanization and continuous eradication of fetuses by frivolous women is seen as "better", then I'd have to respectfully disagree.

  5.  @Lampka6  Nobody wants this. Punishing people for miscarriages is very rare, i've only heard of such cases from the arab world. It's not the goal by this legislation meant to make sure that women/men behave like real humans with good character, caring for others, and respecting life.
