What's wrong with a technocracy? Lol. Do you mean a tech-based society? Tyranny doesn't per definition have to be bad if it's used for good, to prevent elements and actors that may jeopardize the country. I'm sure every Al Jazeera viewer from Africa and the Middle East would agree upon that notion. Maybe even Westerners. These dystopian depictions never turns out to be true in reality. Hyperboles everywhere.

Privacy concerns are usually so overexaggerated, but yeah, it's an interesting topic. Under the national spying programs in the US, such as the Patriot Act and NSA surveillance, has any innocent person realistically been impacted? Not really. Has anyone been negatively impacted by tools and apps used to gather information about one's corona status, one's previous whereabouts and current location? Not that I know of (we'd have heard all about it). You can't value personal privacy and integrity at the expense of societal safety, security and preservation. Many people claim otherwise, because of people like Snowden, Assange and journalists trying to frame every single action of surveillance as a bad thing. Ah well. At least it's mostly uncontroversial to use these actions in China (domestically), and in most countries during this pandemic.
