  1. I wonder that too. The radical and oppressive undertones are usually downplayed when people try to justify wearing these religious symbols from a feminist or Western perspective. It's objectifying. Legitimizes control over others (sometimes justified, but Islam's excessive in this regard). People are wearing the garnment to prevent men from becoming attracted and excited. The structures that these people are trying to break down are strengthened by normalizing Islam.
