  1. Governments and state authorities are usually much more effective when fighting domestic threats. They're more powerful, mobilized and got resources. Vigilantism never ends up well.

  2. How? The government is weak and has lost their grip on these militants. The ongoing policies can obviously not continue. So what's the realistic solution? A full-on offensive initiated by the military? Foreign assistance by peacekeeping troops/soldiers? Changing the country's cultural values to uproot these extremist tendencies?
