A description of the Argentinian nationalcapitalist military junta that ruled a few decades ago in the country and their economic policy: "Martínez de Hoz took measures to restore economic growth, reversing Peronism in favour of a free market economy. His economic measures were moderately successful. He eliminated all price controls and the exchange controls regime. The black market and shortages disappeared." Along with the law and order, civilized conduct being promoted, and stability that these regimes tends to lead to, it's almost a little sad to see that it lost power. Resorting to coups and brutal tactics against opponents is of course also unfortunate. But overall, Argentina would've likely been better off today and in the future with such a regime. Just look at the country today, it is currently in a horrific place because of the socialist direction that it has taken. Argentinians are leaving the country rapidly. Many won't stay for long. Corporations are shutting down and avoiding the country like the plague. Investors are looking elsewhere. The government has mass debt and shortages to tackle.
