  1. Myanmar is going to end up like Hong Kong. Stricter laws, stricter rule, and harsher criminalization against all forms of protest and riots. There's no indications that the army will outsource any power to the protesters. The question is how long the protesters are willing to carry on and how long they are willing to go. It's a big risk.

  2. A full-blown civil war and chaotic situation comparable to Syria will probably not be seen in Myanmar. The authorities cracking down on relatively small groups of protesters isn't a civil war, and is commonplace in many countries.
