I'm no fan of Vietnam's way of previously and still occasionally flirting with Communist ideas, but I do have to concede that their strong and authoritarian system where the collective population is highly valued and cared for, worked wonders. Any country, no matter their economic and social policy, should adopt the structures that enables this type of anti-virus strategy.

  3. Gotta say that I truly admire the way Vietnam has managed to survive and handle this crisis, even if I'm fiercely opposed to many political ideas that they cherish, or used to cherish.

  6. You have to look at per capita stats. China still trumps Vietnam by ~4-5x. But who knows, maybe China's imperialism, their way of causing destabilization domestically and internationally, and their determination to seek conflict may result in Vietnam closing in someday.
