Tons of effort to save one species while ~200-2000 species dies off annually. I suppose the larger animals are easier to detect, track and save, though. Maybe deemed as more important as well due to their widespread presence and biomass.

Drastic times calls for drastic measures. Turkey needs to be pushed into submission. Into civility. Into making apologies and behaving humanely.
11
A purple city, heaven for girls :')

Good. Cut redundant federal spending and put the nation and the people first. If you're gonna throw away money, at least make sure that your people's welfare is ensured first. I'm a bit surprised that Trump is in favor of the ~2k unemployment/one-time payments to families rather than the lower ~$600 figure. Isn't he surprised to be a conservative spender?
11
China has 4 state-owned companies (including the PLA) with over a million employees each. The largest state-owned "corporation" is the Pentagon in the US, though, with 3.2m employees.
11
Not much treatment will be effective on the obese. Their immune system is shattered and their ability to rehabilitate from many of the self-inflicted wounds is very weakened. Fighting against the obesity epidemic should be a high priority in every country.
11
Ahh..here we go again. Another tense and hurtful trade war and worsened tensions between the West and East. Those who'll suffer? Innocent, poor and every day people. Those longing for peace and prosperity.
11
@hrishikeshkumar1894 Commies tends to be the type of people that exposes themselves for anyone and anything no matter its risks, so yes. Absolutely. There's a reason why STIs, addiction and abuse is prevalent in these left-wing demographics.
11
Really? Bangladesh has problems with islamism and dogmatic belief in the doctrine of islam. But that shouldn't be countered by implementing Western delusions.
11
Look at Texas. Now Florida. Why can't these accidents ever teach a lesson that deregulation on the market isn't ideal?
10
"The violence that gripped the Congress due to Donald Trump" Can these editorializing journalists be removed from the public discourse? This polarization and spread of fabrications is the last thing we need.
10
I bet many people had downloaded the deleted videos already. See something interested and capturing on the internet? Save it, record it, and archive it. Otherwise it'll be gone.
10
Best odds lies at BLM, Antifa or a jihadist being responsible. Tolerance should've never been shown towards these entities.
10
Russia has always been quite useful in maintaining peace and being neutral. Look at their involvement abroad and blatant acts of destabilization. All they care about is favoring own interests and advancing position.
10
Chinese trials aren't legitimate and fair. So we all know what the verdict and treatment of these detainees who've likely been arrested on politically motivated grounds will look like.
10
He was literally elected because he suggested that he would legalize drugs. That's basically it. All the junkies and abusers flooded to the polling station to cast their ballot for him so they could continuously destroy themselves and the nation through their unhealthy habit. Now the entire country is reaping the ramifications from this.
10
Here we go, a return to redundant WHO's status quo, without any improvements or objections to the organization's flaws. A classic and expected decision by the centrist-oriented Biden administration.
10
Good. Only healthy parents with a responsible outlook on the world and how to raise children, should be able to raise children. Otherwise you'll end up with unhinged children questioning their identity and focusing on all the wrong things.
10
An important note: The app/company that was compromised was literally a security-based application that gave advice, security resources, and tools that could protect oneself from breaches. That's why federal authorities and many corporations were using the app. The safety based app manages to be infiltrated to a degree that almost is unbelievable. The trust and credibility is now gone. And much damage has been done.
10
Barbie is american isn't she? And plastic surgery is done by millions of americans annually. It's a strange western practise that ruins the natural look and results in negative implications.
9
You clearly aren't aware of the history regarding the Yemen civil war and who started it. Hint: Saudi Arabia didn't start it and aren't the entity terrorizing the Yemeni people.

Sounds like the Maldives has to diversify a little instead of putting all their eggs in one basket by relying on tourism. However, these are the type of countries that I wouldn't mind supporting in crises because they've technically not messed up their economies or governed their country poorly. They've just been hit by an unavoidable pandemic, which damaged their country. Here in Europe, we're providing a bunch of loans and donations to countries with poorly run economies with low pension age, socialist spending, high federal minimum wage laws and costly policies that keeps on pushing their country down in need of support. Respect to the foreign secretary of the Maldives for showing up here though. Always interesting to hear different perspectives and stories from countries that barely are part of the media's limelight.

India doesn't really take general security for their citizens seriously. Just look at the violence, frequent cases of rape, caste discrimination, etc. With limited technology, tools and development, taking cyber security seriously will be even less likely. But the government will presumably try, at least.
9
Lol what? Haven't heard that. The main issue with plastic surgery is its irreversible intervention that results in physical damage, destroyed skin, and regret. The artificial practise doesn't benefit society at all and should be banned.
9
Indeed. These demonstrations are perfectly understandable, legitimate, and significantly more peaceful than the riots that we've seen earlier this year by leftist extremists.
9
Isn't this quite rare during the cold winter season?
9
Is this a new method of growing and harvesting saffron? Why has this not been used before, or has it? Is the quality satisfactory enough to sell it everywhere abroad? Many questions.
9
Well, that clearly doesn't work in a dystopian pandemic where people are dying on a massive scale. How can it be so hard to understand for many of these, frankly, egoistic people? Why is it so tough to care about your fellow countrymen by making temporary sacrifices, respecting virus restrictions and avoiding going outside for a while? It's appalling to see these reactions. I hope the police locks em' up.
9
Chris Miller and Mark Esper were Trump's defense secretaries during his final years. Mike Pompeo were secretary of state, not defense secretary.
9
Imagine criticizing this law because it "is too harsh". I imagine those that are doing so are rape suspects. Perhaps go ahead and arrest them?
9
"There's a mass amount of people that voted for Trump, there's a mass amount of people that support white supremacy" In what world is this true? What happened to this reporter? Almost nobody supports white supremacy..how can anyone compare that low rate with the rate that supports Trump? Is she referring to the criminal George Floyd and the valid police intervention against the paranoid drug user?
9
A real beauty 😂

Is only the "peaceful community" the problem? I mean, 25% of the country is illiterate and over 50% are farmers. Population control is definitely needed for large parts of the demographic throughout India, not just the peaceful entities.
8
North Korea has stayed quiet and reclusive for the past couple of months. Haven't heard much from them. So I can see why the mutual military drills and cooperation between SK-US can be toned down.
8
@workbook17 She realize the need for harmony, peace, and stability, which is created under such circumstances. She realize that security guards and high walls can be a prerequisite in order to live away from danger. Yet, she calls for the expulsion and abolishment of all this. Depraved hypocrites!
8
If you want any serious country outside of India to use your vaccine, it needs approval, yes.
8
China are taking advantage of the rest of the world being closed down. China managed to stop and control the virus rapidly. This year couldn't have gone better for the country. They took over as the biggest trading partner in South America, continues with investments in Africa, has increased production immensely compared with the rest of the world stuck in shutdowns, and keeps spreading their influence worldwide.
8
The hate crimes seen isn't a drastic increase in absolute numbers from what i've seen. And if we actually listen to the experts and the police chiefs investigating these crimes, they're unsure whether or not a hate motivate was involved in most of the scenarios. People really need to be careful before drawing such conclusions. Especially if they're gonna draw such conclusions to blame some unhinged scapegoat such as white people or white supremacy, when the precise opposite of that is responsible for the crimes.
8
Good law. Harassing and slandering the police should be met with harsh penalties.
8
@anuragpuri5158 He added a serious remark to your sarcastic comment that criticizes these new policies.
8
Because most of the drug addicts, criminals, liberals, socialists and the fiscal neoliberals are OK with Trudeau's quite weak rule, let-go politics, and drug-positive stance.
8
Good on the Swiss for helping out environmentally in countries where is barely is feasible.
8
Conflicting conclusions everywhere. Wow...
8
Remember: Iran lied for days after the Iranian revolutionary guards shot down this passenger plane. They admitted to what had happened when the pressure became too strong. Take their reports and statements on this with a grain of salt. Everything they do and say is politically motivated.
8
Democracy in many of these Arabic countries will lead to Iran/Saudi Arabia V2. Islam spreading like wildfire. So what we need to strive towards is a stable, decent, nationalconservative, and secular/scientific-based society where technocracy and meritocracy dominates the country. Or something along these lines.
8
They should sue themselves for not doing their job. For letting the protesters pass through the barriers. For describing the incident as a coordinated insurrection, debunked by the FBI and other actors.
8
Ardern has handled this really well. I don't particularly like socialdemocrats and some of their questionable stances on social policies and how people ought to act, but we could've used her way of governing here in Sweden where we have a weak, slow, pseudo-scientific and liberally-oriented socialdemocratic rule that don't prioritize the people at all. That's why we have like 12,500+ coronavirus deaths, compared with NZ's ~25 deaths or Taiwan's ~25, with similar population rates.
8
Or because Islamists has been welcomed in without blinking by many countries. Because of a lack of control directed at many of these Islamists. If the world used the type of practises that Myanmar or China uses against extremism, and if the world closed their borders, would Islamic terrorism have become such a big problem? Doubtful.
8
For sure. But do you know how the Nobel Committee reasons when it comes to this? They state that "we can't nominate Trump because he hasn't taken right-wing extremism seriously and hasn't stood up against racial injustice". All of this is of course a blatant lie and a partisan mischaracterization by an important body, which delegitimizes the Nobel committee's reputation and completely depletes the value of the Nobel Peace Prize.
8
@Aman kumar All religion should be abolished. It only creates docile, naive and weak individuals that believes in superstitious stories that don't reflect reality. Islam needs to be prioritized in this regard, but every religion should follow and be removed.
