  1. A democratic election will be held in Myanmar within a year. Up until then, any dissent and riots will be quashed, in adherence to the army's interpretation of Myanmar's constitution. So technically, democracy hasn't been undermined if you look at it from the military's side and the power structure that has benefitted the military since the country's inception.
