  1. Sounds like the Maldives has to diversify a little instead of putting all their eggs in one basket by relying on tourism. However, these are the type of countries that I wouldn't mind supporting in crises because they've technically not messed up their economies or governed their country poorly. They've just been hit by an unavoidable pandemic, which damaged their country. Here in Europe, we're providing a bunch of loans and donations to countries with poorly run economies with low pension age, socialist spending, high federal minimum wage laws and costly policies that keeps on pushing their country down in need of support. Respect to the foreign secretary of the Maldives for showing up here though. Always interesting to hear different perspectives and stories from countries that barely are part of the media's limelight.
