  2. So they'll be using nuclear-powered submarines and aircraft carriers for deterrence as well? That's an interesting perspective that i've never heard before. That said, meeting energy demands is more safely and sustainably done by the use of clean renewables such as solar, wind and hydropower. Such projects are great job creators as well. Not sure why France won't combine nuclear with renewables, frankly. That's the most desirable route to that.

  3. They've been capitalist, smart, and an educated people for decades and decades. Yes, France would be one of the most powerful countries on earth even without their history in Africa. Don't overestimate such irrelevant part of their history when it comes to their growth, prosperity and well-being today.
