@BrianTy007 Plenty of the left's ideas consist of socialism, higher taxes, governmental control, centralization and a whole lot of dirty advocacy for dangerous behaviour. That's the issue.

@inpusket The fire department is also different from most healthcare. We can't have crucial sectors burning down because of a lack of infrastructure such as a strong, robust and stable fire department. It's like a measure available for times of crises, wars, and similar emergencies. There wouldn't exist a society without it. Healthcare is also important but a nationalized system is far from fair, sustainable and desirable.

He's mostly right on the refugee part. Plenty of refugees attempts to reach the US even though they reach other countries beforehand that they could stay in. Many aren't persecuted or threatened in their homelands either. Not to mention to long list of problems that they often brings along, justifies a rough immigration line.

@patrickhudson1185 Because it costs way too much, raises taxes, has implications, leads to a socialist path, covers people who probably don't deserve it, will be abused, and is inherently anti-American. Will likely deteriorate the US healthcare competence, increase queues, and bring a whole lot of problems that we see in Europe. Sure, the system isn't ideal and there's some flaws. But the alternatives are worse. The incentive consists of building up a financial buffer to use in cases of emergency. A buffer to cover costs and necessities in crises. Or purchase insurance.
