I took the African Ancestry DNA test as I wanted to go back to the beginning. Could only do it on my Mom's side; came out Cameroon - Bamileke tribe. So no, we aren't all from Nigeria :) Hope to visit in 2024! Excited for us all!!

They remind me of the Last Poets and Gil Scott-Heron. Yes, I’m old skool and I love this! The pictures of Malcolm X, Tupac and others shows how we are globally tied together. Thank you for sharing this - it made my day! 👍🏾✊🏾

Yes, it is amazing how much they try to keep from us. Thank you for uncovering the truth and presenting it in a beautiful format! 🥰

I agree with Apryl - looks nice but I want walkable and local culture. Not all expats. Interesting place to see and I’m glad you covered it.

What a wonderful spot! Thank you for this video ❤ Beautiful beaches, lots of food choices, serene residential neighborhoods and that 140 year old tree!! I think I could live here 🥰 - hope it’s not too hard to get a visa….
27
Whew! Y’all have more guts than I do! Enjoyed this video and your experiences there. Being a solo traveler , this is one I would have to pass on. The food looked awesome. Stay safe 🥰

Love the art, history and architecture and as always, the food coverage 🥰
21
I so enjoyed learning about Olodum and seeing the art and culture 🥰 thank you!
19
Love the colors and the architecture and of course the history and culture( and libraries- wow!)

I lean towards Brazil but Mexico is right up there too! I Love seafood so that brazilian dish that you feature is calling my name. I love fresh vegetables and fruits too, so I don't know if Mexico is better than Brazil for those. I guess I need to get something to help with translating, that is my weak spot. I'm Soooo tired of the wild, wild west (USA) Low cost medical/dental is important too.

@TheYarbros If my brother would do one we would know my father’s side too - still working on that 🥰
15
Whoa! I felt like I was right there with you!! Loved the stairs and the local food ( no kfc for me - real food of the people 😊) The laid back beach with the Sugar loaf(?) mountains above; the gorgeous falls in the intro; mesmerizing!! Y’all had a little slice of heaven in Rio - thank you 🥰🥰🥰 PS- glad you found your patches! PSS - And the people - so friendly and engaging 😊

I like my coffee double espresso straight no chaser 🥰 Loving this market and the inexpensive breakfasts! Lima is a keeper!

Another Wonderful festival in beautiful Oaxaca! That first group that you showed performing reminded me of a drill team performing here in the US - just Much more colorful! Loved, loved loved the history lesson , seeing all the different foods and the mezcals! Surprised not to see different moles though. The family vibe was So contagious! 🥰
12
I love this episode!! Have been contemplating this since I first found out about it from another wonderful YouTuber. I should go ahead now and put my toes in the water 🥰👍🏾
12
What fun!! I love the whole vibe!

Where do I start? The Batman(?) alley, Black bookstore with rows of all Black covers (thrilling!) and the AfroBrazilian museum - whew!! And another foodie heaven - topped off with the MI and FL connections. To say I wish I was there is an understatement - but this was such a vicarious addition to my birthday celebration 🎉 Thank you 😊🥳 More safe travels, peace and blessings can’t wait for what’s next 🥰
11
Oooh! I So want to be there - connecting with the earth, nature, food and beautiful people.🥰 I wouldn’t want to leave. That/this would truly be heaven…. Thank you for this relaxing experience!

Hi guys 👋🏽 I’m ready to see the story and what the real deal is 🥰 Guayaquil has many beautiful spots. Is the temperature like Merida or milder ( hopefully) ? Thank you for showing the beauty as well as including the whole story! Really want to know more about the Afro Ecuadorians……

Very informative video, thanks for showing both sides. The blemishes outweigh the positives for me. I will pass. I was wondering about the patches - glad to see the collection continuing 🥰

Wow , what a treat!!! Loved the falls and the nature spot. Equally had my heart at the chocolate factories. Chocoholic that I am, would need to do some Serious walking in a beautiful, calm, serene setting to balance the calories 😂 Hmmm, wonder if they had a chocolate vino???? Thank you! I So enjoyed this trip with you 🥰

Loved this adventure! One question-what else came with the meat at the steakhouse? 🥰

I love this local, on the ground updated info on Mexico! Oaxaca and Guadalajara are two areas that speak to me. Really enjoyed this! I may just bop around for 6 months after I check out Panama
7
Again, so glad you are safe and staying aware. Praying for the Peruvian people and their democracy and everyone’s including yours safety. I Do understand the heartbreak and I know you will be able to return. In the little that you’ve been able to show us, I would like to visit also 🥰 Looking forward to your next video, as always 🙏🏿

I think it’s calmer there than here in the US. With all these power centers being intentionally destroyed….it isn’t a comfortable feeling here at all…..
7
This reminds me of the book”Lies My Teacher Told Me” Author was James Loewen. I was able to get middle school/ high school students interested in history by introducing them to this 🥰
7
Glad to see you back - missed you! Love, love, love this video!! The history, architecture and food - my three favorite things 🥰 Thank you!!
7
Another beautiful spot - thank you! Just lovely and the music…..
7
2 deaths so far 😢, thoughts and prayers for all involved.

I love almost everything you showed - the dampness ( mold ?) really gives me pause - treated 3 years to get rid of mold health issues. Also , how are the grocery stores and rent prices? Thank you for this one - Guadalajara is definitely on my list and Equador is a strong consideration.
6
Love this — I’m so hungry 😂 The local vibe is 🔥. On my list of places to see!
6
Catholic Church has never rocked like this 😂 And the switch - we are who we are everywhere! 😄
6
Hola 👋🏽 Don’t know how I missed this one but thank you So much for the info! Since I will be solo traveling this gives me pause - especially since I was feeling drawn to the coast of Equador. I may go back to slow travel for 6 months thru Mexico. Regardless, I will be traveling soon - I don’t feel safe in US much anymore….. Still feeling the travel bug and must honor it and not live in fear - just armed with knowledge and common sense
6
What fun! 🤩 Island vibe 👍🏾
6
I have love for Lima thanks to what you’ve shown! I love doing the architecture walks, people watching and food tasting, you know, Detroit stuff!! Can’t wait for things to calm down there and in Brazil so I can visit 🥰
6
I LOVE Edwina Gaines - she is the truth!! :) I love the stories of all the expats -- it was good to see Monte with you!
