The message of quantum mechanics is that it doesn't have a here OR there. It has no definite location. If you assume that it has a here or there then you can never make quantum mechanics describe experimental observations.

@duncanhw No it implies that the particle exists at one specific location or another whereas QM states that it has no specific location before it is measured. The idea of particle doesn't even have meaning. It is not a particle at all.

@duncanhw "Here or There" is not an idiomatic expression at least not in American English. They are words used to describe the location of an object like "here on this table" or "there on the counter" relative to some observer's location. Definitions matter in science! Stop being sloppy!

yes but how much of the model describes the thing itself since experimental observation of the thing was used to create the model.

Just imagine all of the things that exist in nature that we can't perceive or measure (yet) and how they could be having an effect on our observations.
