" perhaps the 'UFO' are actually 'time traveling' humans" If they were humans from the future then they would surely let us know that they are visiting us from the future. "why do we think that we are so important that they would care to even say hello". Because if they are intelligent then they are most likely driven by curiosity. Just like humans study bacteria, viruses, ants, etc. To your typical human these creatures are not that important (or so we think) but some humans do study them (thankfully).
