  2.  @Corbrwl  No! A flat tax on lower income folks hurts them way more than on the rich. If someone makes 50k and they had to pay a flat tax of 50% , his earnings go down to 25k which means you end up at the poverty level. If you tax someone with 2 billions dollars at a 50% rate that person ends up with 1 billion in after tax earnings. That person would still be in the 1%. Flat tax is a horrible idea. Billionaires use way more of the country's resources than the rich by miles and so they should pay way more taxes. Billionaires buy politicians, they can help start wars, they use all of our bridges and roads and all of the infrastructure whether it is the electrical grid or communications grid and they get way more subsidies than Joe the plumber.

  5.  @Corbrwl  Yea those income earners that you speak of that don't pay income taxes are mostly senior citizens and disabled people and you want to tax their SS check or disability check, savings interest, bond interest and most make under 10k a year! You are a sad individual. These people pay other taxes like sales taxes, property taxes, excise taxes, etc.
