Yea Trump pressured the federal reserve not to raise them. They were just too low through out his presidency and got to extreme lows in 2020 when it wasn't needed.

@Franktheplumber wrong! Inflation was entirely created by corporations trying to makeup lose revenue from the pandemic. So now they are price gouging the consumers.

@DMAN590 The biggest increase occurred during the pandemic (2020) actually and then in 2021. The money supply has actually gone down since 2021.However, on a per capita basis it is not even close to being the highest! It was much much bigger in previous eras in the history of the US! You can't think in absolute numbers since this a much bigger country today. CPI and Interest Rates are not even close to being at historical highs.
