@replynotificationsdisabled Realistic in the sense that is based on Stone's experiences in Vietnam whereas Apocalypse Now is more cartoonish.

@replynotificationsdisabled Apocalypse now is not realistic. It is just the book Heart of Darkness set in Vietnam and the story drags on.

@nomprenom9337 What I liked most about the movie was the story and characters which is why l like Oliver Stone movies. I've seen more realistic war movies but they lacked story and character development.

@kurtrivero368 It is isn't superior! Apocalypse Now is just a rehash of the novel Heart of Darkness only set in Vietnam. The script by Oliver Stone was original and a much better story with much more interesting characters and theme. I have yet to finish watching Apocalypse Now...bores me to tears just like your comment! I always sit to watch Platoon all the way to the end.

@MC-yq6us Compare to other war movies it bores me! Again, it is just a rehash of the novel heart of darkness. Platoon is my favorite war movie or any movie /script from Oliver Stone, for that matter!
