@ovincent35 There is no evidence that they sailed here though. If any Chinese made it they came through the land bridge.

Peterson is a bore and not as smart as he thinks he is!

I agree it was incredible but the route to India around Africa was not as scary since they could follow the coast line at least. Sailing west, into the unknown must have been truly scary especially if the Atlantic ocean had turned out to have been much bigger! By the way, the greatest adventure in history was definitely Magellan's circumnavigation of the globe! The most fantastic story ever. Read the book on that voyage or watch the lecture by the author on youtube...very fascinating!

Perhaps but they never told anyone if they did do it so it was basically useless and there is zero evidence that they made it here! Columbus on the other hand did tell everyone.

Well the Americas were a discovery to the rest of the world. Just imagine all the great empires and civilizations that came before The Egyptians, the Romans, the Greeks, the Chinese, etc. Millenia went by and none of them made the discovery until 1492. An entire civilization and land mass hidden for thousands of years from the rest of the known world.

@ahmadahmed214 Actually he did reach the Americas. What are you talking about???

@ahmadahmed214 Total nonsense.

@ahmadahmed214 I know more than you ever will! I've been studying world history for 40 years and have advanced degrees in both history and physics!

In fairness though there were a lot of people involved from the Spanish, Portuguese, Italians and British on that first voyage although the Spanish did fund the voyage and opened up the flood gates for the rest of Europe to start exploring.

@Catwhisper175 Vikings had no clue were they were and told no one. Meanwhile, Columbus and his crew told everyone.

@Catwhisper175 Do you mean the United States? America is actually North, central and South America and the carribean islands. So yes he did make it to America. He didn't set foot on the continental US. That honor goes to Giovanni Caboto (probably)!

You would've dropped out after you complained of all the physics and math problems that he would have assigned!
