I was born in Frankfurt am Main in 1960. My father was conscripted into the cold war.

You were talking about peanut butter. The problem with a lot of processed foods is the laundry list of ingredients. Something should have 6 ingredients max. There are nut butters that are just ground nuts, some have palm oil to prevent separation
2
I may have heard of this. Or maybe it was a different resistance group. I am just getting started, so I will see

Thank You for cleaning that up. I mean, about your marriage status

There were 4 children in my family. The only time any of us got seriously hurt is when one sister crossed the road on a bicycle and the other sister blindly followed. She got hit because she didn't check traffic!

Service in restaurants sometimes depends on the server. I was in a restaurant once where the server didn't check on me at all. She took my order, delivered my meal, and gave me the check. I wanted to add something, but she couldn't be bothered. I heard her complain that nobody gave her a tip that day. It is annoying when you are alone and the server keeps checking on you while you are eating. I would rather have that than not being checked on at all

Here in Lakeland Florida it is a little safer to ride a bicycle. There are bicycle lanes. Where there aren't on major roads, the side of the road is considered the bicycle lane. I mean, there is a paved area to the right of motor vehicle lanes. But pedestrians and bicyclists are still treated like they don't belong by some drivers

Do you realize how many chemicals go into cigarettes made in the States? Some people can't tolerate that. I can get a serious respiratory problem. Doctors aren't as smart as people give them credit for. I went to a doctor that diagnosed me with tuberculosis. I went home and fixed it myself. Even with all the restrictions on where you can smoke, I still end up breathing in too much.

I am more active than most. I refuse to use forms of transportation that make it easier. I use a bicycle that I have to pedal. I tried walking and texting once. It's either one or the other. I don't know how young people do it?
1
In the States, when there is a lane closure, you are supposed to get over as soon as you can. People take advantage and run to the end of the zip so they can get ahead of so many other cars. I even see that in turn lanes. Get over before you get there. Sorry to anyone who disagrees. It is due to the me first attitude in this country

I got you on Europe. Europeans are not all the same. Three comparisons for ft example. How Germany is so different from Great Britain. Even though they are in Western Europe. And Russia is so different from Western Europeans
1
I have a French bloodline. Or is it more accurate for me to say that I am descended from the Franks. The history of the Franks and the Germanic Tribes can be confusing 😕
1
I left Deutschland before they started using the Berlin Wall. I usually say opened. I don't know what to call it?
1
I am not sure where places are in relation to one another? I was born in Frankfurt am Main, and lived in Bad Hersfeld for a little while. Naturally, I remember nothing about where my life started. I do know some Deutsche words. If you live in the States, you may unknowingly know a little of many Western European languages. Like I say, the American language is just many languages mixed up in a bowl and then spilled out
1
I get it why you say you are from Germany. I learned a few years ago that Germans call themselves Deutsche. That makes a bit more sense when You consider the Pennsylvania Deutsche
1
She brought it up. Because of her accent, I asked where she was from. I just have an interest in where people are from
1
My parents were born in the 30s. So yeah, my parents and grandparents were around at the time. Sadly, my parents weren't into informing their children, so I don't know if my grandfathers served. Probably not, they were a little old by then
1
A few weeks ago, I met a woman from Deutschland. I asked where she was from due to her accent. Just because I am curious. She was born in the 30s, so you know what she lived through. She was glad to have met me. So many people in the States relate Deutsche people to the NAZI party. I assured her that I know, and am not that way.
1
Those comments about the cost of things. In the States, capitalism at its finest
1
I didn't notice. I was so young, I don't even remember being there. I know you weren't asking someone like me. I am not being rude. I am just awkward in my communication
1
I have a cousin that married a woman from Deutschland. She never became a citizen of the States. My cousin's children are duel citizens because of this? If they ever get conscripted into military service, they can legally move to Deutschland? My cousin thinks
1
That Deutsche woman serves a typical breakfast that you would eat in Deutschland. Kinds buffet style
1
I am from the States. My father "fought" in the Cold War. He objected to picking up a weapon to hurt another man. He was a radio man in Frankfurt. I was born there, and lived in Bad Hersfeld in the early part of my infanthood
1
I ride a bicycle and live about 6 miles from Aldi's, so I don't shop there. There are some items that I am aware of that are good quality
1
Thank You for sharing! The only white rose that I have heard of is The War of the Roses. I am thinking a few centuries before this. In the 1400s?
1
If I heard this before, I didn't hear it in this great a detail. TY
1
I only spent the first month of my life in Deutschland. I was born in Frankfurt, and lived in Bad Hersfeld. I know, you were talking to people who would remember
1
I like that teacher? She explained how in the States they are so protective over children. I am glad that I grew up when I did, with all that dangerous playground equipment. All the things made out of plastic. No more metal slides. The swings are made to not go too high. I would swing so high that the chain would buckle
1
I wasn't taught anything in school. Maybe because it was the 70s? Most of what I know I learned as an adult. I was born in Frankfurt during the cold War
1
I live in Florida in the States. A few weeks ago, I met a woman from Deutschland. We did discuss the war. She doesn't like what many people think about Deutsch. I know that only a few members of the Nazi Party were evil. Everybody had to join or else
