@foolapprentice3321 Do they get the context or the discussion from it though? It is one thing for a person to see something, it is another for them to reflect upon it or understand it. The ability to reflect and understand only comes with age and experience. So yes, we can show youth how things really are, but we need to give positive guidance for that.

@Woodsaras That comment basically derails the discussion at hand for no positive contribution. Anyways, I find most people to have the same opinion as Cashmere. Policing is necessary for a functioning civilization, but there is plenty of room for improvement in our policing.

@tonychacon1479 ehh. It is healthy to accept failures as a part of life, but part of accepting failures is learning from them and growing from it. To stagnate is not healthy. If one does not reflect on that failure and try to do something with it, then thats where I think the problem is. But, thats also where that depression thing comes in. It is hard to grow when you are hopeless.

@nikkita1688 government is for the people by the people. That last bit is important.

@goldenratio5117 the government should be made up of your neighbors. It is a government that is supposed to be for the people by the people.

@JeanStAubin-nl9uo lived in Madison for a quarter of a century. As people fled Chicago due to the violence, the violence followed them north. It hasn't helped that the police don't seem to care anymore. I have seen the police in Madison be way more friendly and neighborly though. It seems to me when we tried to get the police to be more friendly alot of them jumped ship.

@cmichelle9986 what does that even mean? It's filled with some highly educated folks, some very wacky people, and very segregated along wealth.

That concrete actually increases violence. Lack of greenery increases heat, and increases of heat leads to more frustration and thus more bouts of violence.

Imo the thin blue line flag thing ismt about the flag although technically desecrating it as one isnt supposed to use the flag on anything. It's more about what "the thin blue line" actually means. People will use it to show their support of police officers like ots their representational sign. But the thin blue line is about supporting police corruption, the thin blue line is a saying about how cops will protect other cops even if what they are doing isnt okay. I dont know if people understand that when they put it on their cars and tshirts and what not.

@ronjohnson5070 your name is the same as my states worst senator. Anyways, who cares? We question that but we dont question how much tax payer money goes to other people. Or how many tax breaks are given to a corporation or rich person. Hell, I know of farmers getting tens to hundreds of thousands of tax payer dollars every year.

@alexw3515 'None appear to have jobs or go to school' What? Do you have the ability to tell a person's career or education from looking at them? Do me, how much education do I have? How about for a job?
