@williamflowers9435 I wrote up a whole counter post but decided against it because this channel is about cool weapons and not politics. That being said, you've got a shitty take on what democrats want.

@gj1234567899999 not if we all started manufacturing ammunition.

Dude has a point about automatics though. They really don't have any legal civilian purpose other than 'I just want to shoot one', which is bypassed by places that allow you to shoot automatics. I don't think outside of suppressive weapons like the SAW that even the US Military trains for sustained automatic fire. You'd be wasting ammunition, and you wouldn't be hitting anything. Like an automatic AR isn't going to be hitting shit. Any argument that it would be used for 'defense' is useless as 'spraying blindly' isn't defensive nor safe. You would really want to be living alone near no one as you'll be spraying through walls with whatever it is you are shooting. That'll be way more dangerous than just using a semi-automatic and actually aiming your firearm. What an automatic is really good for is hitting multiple targets close together, like Crowds.

@LootGoblin432 just what is a person doing in their wedding? There's not really a functional reason for it. Only aesthetic.

You'll also notice how the Zat gun gets less powerful over the series. In the beginning its shown that 1 shot stuns, 2 shots kills, and 3 shots disentigrates the body. Then the writers realized in the process of easily getting rid of a body for plot purposes, created a massively overpowered weapon whose power they actively tried to forget about.

@daltongarrett7117 The idea that the common people could stand against the government is ridiculous. It would never happen. Secondly, the people in the united states /are/ the government. They'd be taking guns away from themselves, which is also ridiculous and would never happen. Third, full auto weapons would be useless for any regular citizen to own. Even the us military doesn't go full auto with their non suppressive weapons, because you can't use the weapon effectively. The only use for a citizen to have it would be to 1) shoot it for shits & giggles (And we have places that allow you to do this so non issue) and 2) To full spray into a crowd of people, which is murder.
