@midlander8186 Denmark is more densely populated than Sweden. There are of course differences to Sweden's neighbors but aren't the differences even bigger relative to Spain, France, and the UK? Then a minor nitpick about this: "Sweden's population is a little less than twice that of Denmark or Norway and more than twice that of Finland." You should swap Norway and Finland here. Finland has a larger population than Norway.

@suicidesquats9325 "because of what happened in the beginning" I think that says that Sweden's measures should have, in hindsight, been at least a little stricter in the beginning.

@larstenfaelt1859 But isn't a similar thing true for Sweden's neighbors as well? Early on there wasn't enough testing capacity for everyone with symptoms but later that was expanded greatly. Nonetheless, those countries did not experience similar summer spikes.
