"If a language is used by malwares, you know the language is a real deal." I suppose that must then include Visual Basic since it used to be used for a bunch of macro viruses back in the day.

@NvidiaRTX5080 I'd imagine that a doctor noticing such a cancer wouldn't expect any reward (beyond their salary if they notice that at their work).

I think for many people this would be enough. The point is not how much you're paid. The point is that you're paid at all and that gives you bragging rights. Of course, a bigger bounty could still be useful as it could incentivize more people to do this kind of stuff.

@ No one's obligated do anything like this if they feel the reward isn't big enough and, like I said, offering a bigger reward could potentially have some benefits. But you know, clearly even this small reward served its job in this case. As another comparison, Donald Knuth offered measly $2.56 for finding an error in his book series and that worked too.

@MrSqurk Maybe not, but it still makes it seem less pathetic.

If I understood correctly, it's not just dynamically linked libraries. Based on this, it would seem that Rust also can't have statically linked libraries that are already compiled into machine code and only need to be linked. The Rust libraries have to actually be compiled at the same time you're compiling your library.

Do take into account that India is poorer. The US GDP per capita is more than 30x higher than that of India. Using that as a scaling factor you could say that the bounty would be equal to about $7200 in the US which doesn't sound too bad.
