@savagecabbage553 One would think that a large volume of traffic would warrant a train or a subway line and it'd be easier if e.g. checking passports could be done at a train station or on the train.

@mortifera123 "The long wait time is intended as a deterrent." So they intentionally provide a poor service and waste people's time? What a shame.

"please don’t cross borders illegally" The fact that a lot of people try despite all the negatives suggests that staying put is even worse (and trying the nigh impossible legal route essentially amounts to staying put).

@jypsridic "Yea, and the people who can fix it keep running here instead." You think a bunch of poor people can somehow solve difficult problems in the government?
4
No, they're not. It's quite possible for one to be true with the other not being true.
3
Is there a train line across?
3
@jypsridic "You don't have to be rich to pick up a gun and shoot at the cartels." Who can realistically think "if I start shooting at the cartels, the problems in Mexico will be solved"?

The EU/EEA still has external borders. There are similarly e.g. migrants crossing the Mediterranian and sometimes drowning.

Even in San Diego / Tijuana?
1
"work for peanuts" Which is still an improvement for many.
1
@ASMRJey I would compare that to crossing state borders inside the US. The external borders for both the US and EU have some of the same issues (at least during the recent migrant crisis).
1
I'd say "further" is correct here because it's referring to a direction rather than a static location.
1
One possibility is that the person has acquired US citizenship after the children were born.
1
Very little trolling, in fact.
1
But to be fair, that was a lot shorter wall and thus could be guarded more effectively.

Things often have more than one cause.
1
Surely this isn't the first such video?
1
@Quadratic4mula "It's not that hard." How do you know?
1
@jypsridic The would-be-illegal-immigrants can't solve the problem of cartels.
1
@jypsridic Not a credible assertion. What could a bunch of poor people do?
1
First, you'll have to illegally immigrate to Mexico.
1
"Do its flaws excuse illegal immigration? Absolutely not." How come? If there's no practical legal way and the alternative is to stay in destitution, I don't think I could honestly say I wouldn't do try illegal immigration.
