@baastex "The only way Versailles would actually have succeeded if it had stopped the war from ever happening." But that's just your definition for success. I'm not commenting one whether it's a good or a bad definition but it wasn't what this video was about so it's not an argument for this video being wrong.

@alexhunt7810 On the other hand, the Versailles treaty imposed a significant economic burden on the German population who I think cannot be blamed because they weren't the ones deciding to attack Russia, Belgium, or France.

@alexhunt7810 "They voted for the government that declared war." No, they didn't. In the previous general election the Social Democrats won but that didn't matter because the Reichstag didn't have much real power. It didn't have a power to select the government or declare war. The real culprits are the likes of Falkenhayn and Emperor Wilhelm.
