  1. "But force wizards out of their jobs for stating that magical ability is inheritable?" At least being a wizard or a muggle is obviously largely heritable in the world of Harry Potter. Squibs are rare and muggle-born wizards even more so. It's a bit unclear if magical ability inside the population of wizards is heritable (and, if so, to what degree). Some Slytherins seemed to believe that; Hagrid believed the opposite. Even if it were heritable it still wouldn't seem to make sense to not train the "mud-blooded" in Hogwarts, as some Slytherins wanted, though.
